Nachdem wir das Geheimnis des Pakts mit dem Teufel erfolgreich aufklären konnten, stürzten wir uns direkt in das nächste Abenteuer bei den Mindhunters in Osnabrück. Diesmal reisten wir zurück in das 19. Jahrhundert und somit in die Zeit der Cholera.

Schon im Jahr 2020 erfuhren wir von dem vielversprechenden Edutainment-Konzept des neuen Anbieters Mindhunters in Osnabrück. Bei dem Ansatz handelt es sich um eine Mischung aus Education aufgrund real historischer Hintergründe der Stadt Osnabrück sowie Entertainment in Form eines Escape Rooms. Aufgrund der Pandemie konnte der Anbieter seine Räumlichkeiten erst mit deutlicher Verzögerung im Jahr 2021 öffnen. Wir waren daher gespannt, wie dem Anbieter das Konzept gelungen ist.

Room Fox haben mit „Die Verbotene Entdeckung“ einen Raum in Eigenregie geschaffen, welcher uns absolut beeindruckt. Wir sind zugegebenermaßen mit nicht allzu großen Erwartungen nach Osnabrück gereist, haben dann jedoch einen Raum gespielt, der sich nicht hinter den großen Anbietern auf dem Markt verstecken sollte.

Room Fox machen mit ihrem ersten Spiel „Der Varus Fluch“ vieles richtig. Die Anbindung an die lokale Geschichte ist geschickt gewählt, um einen thematischen Hintergrund für das Spiel zu schaffen. Die Rätsel sind abwechslungsreich und führen zu einer Stunde voller Spielspaß. Der Raum bietet sich gut für Anfänger als auch für erfahrene Spieler:innen an, die sich jedoch mit einer kleinen Gruppengröße dem Varus Fluch stellen sollten.
